From A WARDROBE STUCK IN THE PAST to Curated Confidence

TESTIMONIAL

“Linda gave me the confidence to make the decisions I knew were long overdue to declutter my work wardrobe. Together we removed clothes that no longer fit or were really no longer my style. These clothes can now have a second life with someone else, and I can update my wardrobe. Would definitely recommend Linda to refresh and up-style your wardrobe!”

CASE STUDY – REBECCA LETs GO

The Challenge: A Wardrobe Stuck in the Past

Rebecca and I discussed her wardrobe conundrum, which was an all-too-common dilemma: a closet full of beautiful, high-quality pieces that no longer served her.

Her wardrobe was a mix of clothes that either no longer fit her current body or didn’t align with her evolving professional role.

While she knew a change was “long overdue,” she struggled with the emotional weight of letting go of items she still loved but never wore.

She needed more than just a declutter; she needed the confidence to move forward.

The Strategy: A Gentle, Tiered Approach

To respect the emotional nature of the wardrobe review and edit, I abandoned the “rip the band-aid off” method. Instead, I used a strategic, step-by-step process to build her “decision-making muscles.”

  1. Phase 1: Addressing the Greatest Need (Trousers) We began with her most immediate pain point. Trousers are the foundation of a professional look, but also the most difficult to fit. By starting here, we tackled her biggest daily frustration first.
  2. Phase 2: Building Momentum (Jackets) Once she saw the clarity that came from the trouser edit, we moved to blazers and jackets. Her confidence grew as she realised that keeping items that didn’t fit her current role was actually holding her back from finding pieces that would work better.
  3. Phase 3: The Full Transformation (Skirts & Shirts) With her newfound confidence, the final stage was easier. Together we refined her skirts and shirts, ensuring every piece remaining was a “yes.”

The Result: Space for a Second Life

By the end of the session, I had successfully helped Rebecca to curate a wardrobe that reflected her current professional status and respected her body as it is today.

The items we removed weren’t “wasted”—they were earmarked for a second life, allowing someone else to enjoy them while our client gained the physical and mental space to update her look with intention.

She importantly now had the mental space, no to mention wardrobe space to update her wardrobe with clothes that would better suit the body she has today, and her style.

“Linda gave me the confidence to make the decisions I knew were long overdue… I can now update my wardrobe. Would definitely recommend Linda to refresh and up-style your wardrobe.”

Why This Process Works:

  • Empathy First: I acknowledge that clothes carry memories.
  • Iterative Confidence: I start small and build up to the harder decisions.
  • Professional Alignment: I ensure your “visual resume” matches the career story you want to tell and your personal style.
