Main Character Energy: Met Gala 2025 Jewellery Style
12 May 2025

Brooches, statement necklaces, and multiple strands on trend

From the arrival of the Met Gala Co-Chairs jewellery to the lapel brooches of the Black Male Choir that greeted them on the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Met Gala 2025 jewellery style gave main character energy.

Adoring Adorning Brooches

Met Gala Co-Chair Colman Domingo heralded the arrival of jewellery with main character energy sporting a stylish ear cuff.

While his Co-Chair Lewis Hamilton wore Grace Wales Bonner brooches made in collaboration with SNOW Diamonds on his lapel and hat. (Grace Wales Bonner also delivered a stunning brooch for Tyler Mitchell.)

The choir members mooted the trend of the night for brooches as each ported a while gold and diamond brooch on their lapel.

Brooches were the perfect complement to tailored looks and men embraced them equally with the female attendees.

Statement Necklaces

Over delivering on statement necklace vibes was Bulgari.

Exemplifying this was the Priyanka Chopra’s emerald necklace and Anne Hathaway’s sapphire spectacle.

Noteworthy was the number of emerald pieces, including the one-of-a-kind Emerald Billionaire III timepiece by Jacob & Co worn by Maluma.

Valued at $5 million, the watch features an 18K white gold case and bracelet set entirely with emeralds.

Bringing together a stunning baroque choker, multiple brooches, a watch fob–like chain and a jewel piece down her back Teyana Taylor epitomised Met Gala 2025 jewellery style.

The plunging neckline of Coco Jones floor length bejewelled blazer was the perfect spot to add a Manish Malhotra diamond and emerald colour and pendant.

Meanwhile, the main character of Ocean’s 8 the ‘Jeanne Toussaint Necklace’ inspired the pieces adorning Isha Ambani’s neck.

Including a necklace stack with a vintage-inspired solitaire necklace from her personal collection—an homage to the Maharaja of Nawanagar—the largest diamond is a whopping cushion cut at 80.73 carats as its centrepiece.

Jewellery style: Layered Necklace Strands

One necklace is always too few.

Kim Kardashian layer diamond necklaces with a diamond chocker as well as adding two strands of a fob watch chain of pearls to her hips.

She was not alone.

Dua Lupa raided the Tiffany & Co jewellery box for multiple diamond strands.

Shaboozey wore and almost a breastplate of turquoise grillz (ropes of turquoise strung across his chest) with his Robert Wun designed outfit.

While jewellery designers Soull and Dynasty Ogun of L’Enchanteur were gleaming in layered chains.

Watch fobs and chains

Watch fobs or in Janelle Monae’s case watch monocle was part of her stunning time traveller inspired Thom Browne costume.

Not to be outdone, Khaby Lame added up to twenty fob watches to his vest, in an attempt no doubt to arrive on time.

Damson Idris added his fob watch chain to an emerald attached to his lapel.

Meanwhile Black Pink’s Jenni and Lisa wore fob watch chains of pearls.

For Melody Lucas combining multiple strands of diamond fob watch chains with a mayoral inspired pendant delivered a uber cool jewellery style.

Beyond the met gala 2025 jewellery style

While the jewellery style at the Met Gala 2025 gave main character energy, Thom Browne’s suiting reigned supreme.
