Fashion Week Season – it’s exhausting!

Add the red carpets, so far in 2024 so much fashion has been there to be consumed.

As the exhaustion hits it is hard to identify the memorable collections but there are collections worth noting.

notable collections

Notable collections include Pierpaolo Piccioli Creative Director of Valentino who a few short seasons ago wowed the fashion world with his pink collection filling the runway with black ready-to-wear looks.

The new Creative Director of Alexander McQueen presented a runway collection he said was about letting the light in.

Unfortunately, there might have been light but little of the all-important Wow!

It all seems a long time ago since the spectacular John Galliano collection for Maison Margiela.

highly Wearable

Amongst all the noise came the highly wearable Dries Van Noten ready-to-wear Autumn/Winter 24/25 collection.

For those of us that do not have a squillion to spend but who love beautiful wearable clothes this is the collection for us.

collection highlights

Collection highlights include the beautiful outerwear coats and jackets.

Slouchy style trousers, perfect for work or a country weekend getaway.

Ideal too for wearing with the knitwear, which included classic wool knits and styles that would make ideal eveningwear.

With pattern sparingly appearing, interest was created with unusual colour blocking.

A favourite look combined pink and dark green in a relaxed tunic style top and maxi skirt.

Style inspiration for A/W 2024

This Autum/Winter take inspiration from this collection by focussing on wearable classic pieces that are well tailored and that reflect your personal style.

In discussing the collection Dries said, “..style is something you own..”

An aspiration for everyone who loves to look good and feel good in what you are wearing.
