From London Erdem presented a collection that has our hearts racing.

In Milan, the Fendi collection from Kim Jones combined minimalism with maximum style. This highly refined and elegant collection will reside in your wardrobe for years constantly in style. The use of muted tones to accentuate the clothing was breath taking.

Over at Ferragamo the British born Maximilian Davis accentuated shoulders and waists presenting a highly wearable and functional collection. Where Kim Jones used burnt orange to brighten and delight, Davis uses emerald, green.

Arriving in Paris the shows that stood out for all the right reasons where Sarah Burton’s last collection for Alexander McQueen which celebrated the house codes of the label and the power of women.

Unexpectedly, the Chanel offering from Virgine Viard brightened and otherwise quite dull runway season. The swimwear, flowing dressed and a pink tweed maxi skirt and jacket were highlights.

The Valentino collection was another masterclass. The urban cool of sacai perfect for inner city living.

The overwhelming use of black, white, grey, pale blues, yellow and neutrals might suggest we will all be longing for a spot of colour next year. In the meantime, the sleek silhouettes will call for good event preplanning.
