GET EXCITED ABOUT FASHION
Copenhagen Fashion Week is one of the most exciting weeks in the fashion show roster.
It offers us inspiration and makes us get excited about fashion all over again.
Designer names that are perhaps most familiar to an Australian audience include By Malene Birger, Baum und Pferdgarten, Ganni, Gestuz, Marimekko, Rotate, Saks Potts, and Stine Goya.
Copenhagen Fashion Week collections have one strong theme wearability.
Trends we saw on the recent Australian Fashion Week runway were echoed during #CFW.
This included, maxi skirts, denim on denim, high waisted pieces, tailoring and a focus on texture. Read more here.
Of the less well-known names, at least locally the Mark Kenly Domino Tan tailored monochrome collection was full of timeless pieces.
Munthe presented beautiful shirts with a botanical motif.
Fashionistas take a tip from this collection and pair a mellitic top with jeans.
Ganni, tailored their looks, using shiny embellishments and metallics to add interest. Contrast stitching elevated Ganni’ casual looks.
Shoulders were the focus of the Gestuz collection.
Looks featuring tops and dresses with the shoulders exposed contrasting with suiting featuring broad padded shoulders.
Personal stylists will love how the triangle silhouette Gestuz creates perfectly downplays the hips.
The colour palette of most collections was muted.
Stine Goya was one exception.
Their hot pink suiting suggesting #barbiecore is still with us.
If you love quality fabrics, a focus on sustainability and wearability take a look at the Scandinavian brands.
We think like us you will become a firm stan.
