Creating a sustainable wardrobe
30 Jan 2023

It is not just about what you buy!

When you look at your wardrobe, do you think I have nothing to wear? You are not alone.

A recent UK Harper’s Bazaar article referenced research that says we only wear 20 per cent of our wardrobe 80 per cent of the time.

Creating a sustainable wardrobe is not just about what you buy!

To create a sustainable wardrobe, start with these ideas:

  1. Revamp your wardrobe. What catches you eye will often become your go to. Change what you first see when you go to your closet to start changing what you wear.
  2. Review the colours. Is it time to add colour or remove some i.e., do you really need all those black looks?
  3. Curate your looks for the week. One day a week spend time creating outfits of the day for each day of the week.

Creating a sustainable wardrobe does not mean constantly acquiring new clothes.

Spending a little time can get you out of the ‘but I always wear this rut’.

Bottlegreen and Yellow Personal Stylist can help. Did you know I can create curated shopping lists for you?

For example, you need trousers/slacks/pants for work. I will create a shopping list of options in your area and online.

Would you like to be more creative about what you wear?

I will create curated looks from your existing wardrobe and make suggestions to address any gaps.
