Brands that offer practical, stylish and colourful options
Whether you are in a job that requires practical dressing or that is what you prefer, practical dressing need not be boring.
This blog explores brands that offer practical, stylish and colourful options.
Gorman may be the first brand that comes to mind when you thnk of colour and wild prints. But there are many more Australian designers embracing colour and practicallity.
Here are options for you to explore.
Obus is a Melbourne based brand that offers fun, colourful, and practical clothing.
Another Melbourne based brand and a personal favourite is Leonard Street. Find their stores in Melbourne and Ebenezer Place, Adelaide.
This brand is focussed on sustainability. My favourite look from them this season is their overalls and jumpsuits.
If you are looking at the super comfy denim boiler suit try Leonard Street. Note, you will need to go down a size if not two as it is a very generous fit.
If you have a long torso this boiler suit is a great option, and if you don’t, it will make you look like you do!
The only drawback is that if you are 177cm or taller you may find them too short in the leg.
Vow Studio has fun and colourful clothes that are also practical. Check out the Playground Collection. Its name says it all.
Another brand with their flagship store in Melbourne is Alpha 60. This brand offers practical structured clothing. You will find colours that sing amongst their collections.
Nancybird which in Canberra is stocked by Department of the Exterior in Manuka and Meet Gather Collect at the Aranda Shops loves an Australian motif. If the dopamine colours of the other brands is overwhelming you might enjoy the more muted palette of this brand.
Other options
There are also the practical and minimalist brands to consider that do nice prints or a pop of colour from time to time.
In this category find:
Bassike and Jac + Jac These two brands are available at David Jones.
Finally, for fun Oroton. Maybe not suitable for work but they have beautiful dresses for Summer.
