On the runway
After the whirlwind that is the Spring 2023 runway shows: New York Fashion Week; London Fashion Week; and Paris Fashion Week it is now time to reflect on Spring / Summer Style Trends.
On the runway fashion included the bizarre and sublime.
In the sublime category we find, in New York Thom Browne. The Thom Browne collection left no one in any doubt that they create the coolest styles for business.
In London Harris Reed presented a collection of the most refined silhouettes with fun and fabulous headwear that paid homage to the pilgrims.
In Paris, the Australian brand Zimmerman made their debut. For the fashionistas and editorialists alike, it is the Dries Van Noten collection that has them all talking.
What to wear then this Spring / Summer in the antipodes?
- Wide-leg jeans. A wide leg jean with a high waist will not only flatter your tummy but they will make your legs look longer when worn with a heeled sandal. For more check out the blog on creating a waist.
- Ankle length dresses and skirts. This is the most flattering length to wear with an ankle boot – knee lengths cut your legs off when worn with an ankle length boot. If the weather stays as wet as it has been we are likely to see ankle boot being worn well into Summer.
- White singlets and t shirts. Always a staple. This season you will be in blazers and the white t shirt or singlet under a blazer is the perfect office to party look.
