Showcase at the Canberra Centre
At the Canberra Centre you can see a wonderful showcase of National Indigenous Fashion Awards 2022 award winners.
The partners in the presentation are Indigenous Fashion Projects, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAFF) and the Canberra Centre.
The National Indigenous Fashion parade conducted as part of the DAFF in 2022 was a sold-out show.
It is a terrific opportunity for Canberrans to learn about Australia’s best Indigenous fashions designers and makers.
Amongst the designers in the showcase is Ngali the winner of the Fashion Design Award.
Fresh off the Australian Fashion Week Indigenous Runway the piece in the Canberra Centre is a three-quarter length quilted coat. The sophisticated pattern will work in any wardrobe
Look out for too the Linda Puna – Mimili Maku Arts x Unreal Fur collaboration. This stunning coat was sold through Momento Dezigns locally.
The display also features examples of the award winner’s textile design and traditional adornment.
