wagga wagga style

A recent trip for the opening of a friend’s art exhibition saw me checking out the retail options of Wagga Wagga New South Wales (NSW).

A stroll of the main street – Bayliss Street is where you will find shopping centre staples such as Witchery. The difference is the spaces are larger and the shopping more relaxed and pleasant as a result.

Being regional NSW in addition to RM Williams call into All Things Country. You will find the perfect gingham shirts and dresses here. Best of all they have a large collection of Ariat cowboy boots. Ariat is an American brand that has found a home in regional Australia.

Another must visit on the main street is Evans Shoes.

Also, in Bayliss the very cool Ninja & Jhi. Here you will find a great collection of jeans and brands like G-Start, Billabong, Tigerlilly, One Teaspoon and more. This is a large space, and they use it very well.

Down the road and opposite Myer, you will find Ted & Olive. A recent arrival in Canberra the flagship store is well worth a visit. You will find Hansen and Gretel here as well as a fabulous range of Jets swimwear.

Over the river and in Fitzmaurice Street you will find more specialist boutiques. Try Uneke Antiques Homewares and gifts for Elk the Label. Monty & Moo for spot of colour. A great option for evening and daywear is Texas Jane. They stock Johnny Was and American Vintage as well as Elka Collective, Mossman and Shona Joy.

I noticed at breakfast how stylish the women of Wagga were. The answer as to why is found in the high street and the specialist boutiques that have found a home in Wagga. Of these do not miss Ruby Tuesday. Also in Fitzmaurice Street it is just down the road from the red walls of Romano’s. The 50’s style plate glass windows announce that you have arrived somewhere special and indeed you have.

Stocking the best quality Australian and overseas brands. This beautiful boutique will keep you happy for hours.

While you are in Wagga do not miss the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery where you will find the National Art Glass Gallery.
