stying from the ground up
When it comes to styling for a rainy day its best to start from the ground up.
Rainy days can be hard on your beautiful suede shoes and boots.
Heels of any kind are also a challenge so this is the time to keep it practical.
Keep it practical
Keep it practical does not mean compromising your style.
On wet days try a pair of Chelsea boots, they look great with maxi skirts and dresses.
An ‘in style right now’ option is a western style boot. As well as being very in now they are made for rugged wear.
Old favourites, like Doc Martins, RM Williams boots and Blundstone’s all shine when the rain comes down.
Outerwear
For outer wear a trench coat is perfect when its wet. Whether single or double-breasted a trench will keep out the rain and keep you warm.
There are nice options in store now as part of trans seasonal Spring collections.
Try Camilla and Marc whose maxi length trench comes in a lovely pale pink. Or, if you are more petite try French Connection which has a design that goes just below the knee and comes in a very stylish sand colour.
When it is rainy and cold a knee or maxi length puffer coat is a stylish option. A maxi style, even if you are petite is a good idea because it will keep the rain splashes off you and your clothes.
The Australian brand Decjuba carry a fab mid-calf length puffer in their D-Luxe range. It has a hood, perfect for cold and rainy days.
If the weather is warm and rainy try a mac. You can find them in fabulous colours, and they will keep you dry and looking stylish. Wear colours that pop underneath for added effect.
Hats
Hats are of course fantastic on rainy days.
Wear wool which has the advantage of tending to be water resisitent. Hat hair is much better than wet hair!
RM Williams offers stylish women’s hats as does PhyIli Design whose hats come in gorgeous rain busting colours.
With these options there is no reason to let the rain get you down.
