A key to enhancing your style is creating a flattering neckline.

Styling v, round and square necklines presents a myriad of options and opportunities.

V neckline

Wear or create a v neckline to flatter the bust.

If wearing a turtleneck or a round style neckline create the impression of a v neckline by adding a pendant necklace or a jacket with a v style lapel.

When wearing a v neck top or shirt add a pendent necklace to emphasise your shoulders. Wear the top tucked in to accentuate your waist and neckline.

For a graceful neckline wear a round necklace that sits on your collarbone.

Round necklines

Round or crew necklines work well when you want to add volume for example with a circle skirt or wide leg pants. A crew neck serves to focus on the narrow part of your neck relative to your shoulders.

Balance a round or crew neckline with garments or accessories that draw attention to your waist and ankles. Adding shoulder pads is a good option for enhancing your style.

To create the v neckline when wearing a crew neck wear a shirt over it that has a sharp collar. Leave the top buttons of the shirt undone and/or knot the shirt at the waist.

A boat neckline is one of the most flattering of the round necklines. This versatile neckline suits most people. It is the perfect frame for round or long necklaces. It also perfectly offsets most styles of lapel.

Square neckline

A square neckline is perfectly for stylishly featuring your bust or a longer neck.

A square neck with a corset style will emphasise your waist. Garments with a square neck often also have voluminous sleeves. This can serve as well as tight sleeves or no sleeves to make your torso look narrower.

A square neckline is the perfect foil for long earings or 1920’s style strands of necklaces.

A cowl neckline is another good option. The movement created by the cowl is flattering on most people. A cowl neckline also complements long earrings and make the neck to look longer.
