Fashion to love
Following close on the heels of Australian Fashion Week comes the Australian Made Campaign (AMC). This year we are celebrating ‘Australian Made Week’ from 6-12 of June.
It is week for showcasing Australian fashion and the designers who make it what it is.
If you have not consciously thought about buying locally this is the week to do so. By supporting Australian designers you support fabrics that work in our climates and the creation of clothes that work with our lifestyles and that reflect us.
Even better ‘Australian Made Week’ coincides with the start of the Winter sales – I know it’s totally weird Winter has only just arrived. Nonetheless, it is a great time to buy some beautifully designed Australian style.

Some of the things that I have caught my eye, include: Bassike where you can now take another 25% off sale items. Anna Thomas has started its Winter sale and if you love this designer this is a wonderful time to add to your collection.
Now is also an ideal time to explore lesser know designers such as Leo Lin. Their end of season sale has pieces that were featured on the runway during the Melbourne Fashion Festival earlier in the year.
In Canberra, Honeysuckle and Lace has 50% off selected items. Momento Dezigns is getting ready for their Spring collections to arrive. This means it is buying your winter staples got more affordable.
Perri Cutten has classic jumpers and coats on sale.
In the malls and shopping centres most Australian high street traders have sales on now of their Australian designed winter clothing. Supporting Australia’s large fashion retailers does help support Australian designers.
The most sustainable way to shop for Australian designed and made fashion is to visit the physical retail outlets. Get to know your local retailers. Find out where they are sourcing their products from. Let them know by buying Australian designed and if possible, made that that is what you support.
Share your positive experiences of, and delight in, Australian made and designed products. Word of mouth is still the best marketing tool.
