styling suggestions
Guest at a wedding? Picking the right outfit can be a challenge particularly when we have had limited occasions on which to ‘dress up.’ Whether the wedding is on the beach, in the garden or a more formal or religious setting it is quite an achievement to get the outfit for the event right.
If you are related to the wedding party, then it is good to know what colours the wedding party and the in-laws are wearing for the all-important photos. Colour and florals still work when the outfit style is paired down. It is so important not to outshine the bride!
So which way to go? Classic styling is the safest. Pick from the colours that suit you from those that are on trend. If you do not normally wear dresses, then stick with separates. A stylish suit or simple dress is a great option.
As with colour choice, think about how formal the event is. Do some research about what is being worn at functions where the event is being held. This will help you gauge what style of outfit to look for and select.
To find something that fits you and your body type start with brands that you wear when shopping for your outfit. If that brands offerings are not appropriate – Do they have an upmarket version of the brand? It is recommended that you try not to stray to far from styles that work for you already. This is because the most important thing is to enjoy the day. To do this you need to be comfortable.
On-line sites, such as The Iconic, or Net-A-Porter can give you more options as they stock more formal wear. The Iconic has a wider range of size inclusive brands to choose from though. If shopping on-line a little research can save heartache when it comes to selecting the outfit. Make sure the measurements of options to try will fit and that the style of the brand you are looking at cater for your body shape. This is not the best time to experiment.
