Italian fashion flourishes on the catwalk

The #MFW ran from 22 to 28 February 2022.

This year Prada bought us oversized jackets to the runway together with tank tops and straight knee length skirts.

Max Mara’s Fall 2022 Ready to Wear Collection featured taupe and camel interspersed with a smattering of red, yellow, and orange. The clothes were as refined and minimalist as you would expect.

Roberto Cavalli eschewed the minimalist style in the silhouettes and colour palette. The women that love the sexiness of the Cavalli house would not be disappointed. There was also fun for those who what a bit more coverage with their drama.

Fendi offered diaphanous dresses and trousers. Long-sleeved gloves, which are appearing increasingly on the runway also featured. The diaphanous garments were paired with tailored coats, jackets and pants. For the handbag affecionados cute bags went with every look.

Armani let velvet do the talking in a collection that used this fabric in every type of garment. This combined with deep colour tones gave the whole collection a luxe sheen.

Moschino delivered the fun with a collection that interspersed outfits embellished with household furniture and musical instruments with beautifully tailored coats and dresses. Who could forget the lampshade hat!

Versace corsetry style tops were worn under oversized coats and jackets which amped up its glamour and sexiness.

Grey on grey was a favourite style with the different textures and fabrics used adding interest. Expect to see oversized jackets with dropped shoulders and a lot of grey in the future.
