A new Mum’s wardrobe refresh experience

The date has been set for the return to work post parental leave. There is so much to organise as the return-to-work date approaches.

You peer into your wardrobe and find the clothes reflect not only your new Mum status but also nearly two years of working from home due to the pandemic. While reconnecting with your workplace and finding good childcare are top priorities so is having clothes that make you feel confident as you return to work.

This was the background to a recent shopping trip for one new Mum. We started with a review of goals and objectives. We used Pinterest to test out ideas for new looks and then went shopping.

We started at the Sissa Sorella Collection store in Campbell. Recently, opened it offers a very pleasant shopping experience with large change rooms and labels that offer business and casual options. It was confession time as this new Mum, the big reveal being that her only casual pants were Kmart maternity tights. This option was quickly replaced with a pair of very comfortable and fun Funky Staff jeans and Morrison Jolie Denim blue jean, that fitted this petite Mum like a dream

On to Honeysuckle and Lace which is located at 39 Jardine Street Kingston. Here flexible business attire was the name of the game. The pieces that worked included a gorgeous pop of colour from and orange dress teamed with a pink Stoned & Waisted belt. A fitted pink top and stretchy no fuss Pom Amsterdam these pants go into the washing machine and do not need ironing.

The last stop was Perri Cutten. Her our petite shopper found the perfect trousers for a working woman that are the Roma pant. Equally essential is the machine washable never iron Boat Neck Singlet that goes perfectly under jackets and coats.

The pieces selected will enable our new Mum to feel confident and fresh when she returns to the office. It also enabled her to move on from the maternity focus of her current currently look.
